I love creating portrait art of people, collecting all of their memories and experiences through a beautiful moment in time.
Eight years ago I became a mother to a sweet little baby girl, and everything I thought about life changed directions! Being a mom changed my view of children, myself, and the world. Their curiosity and joy inspires me to see the art in everyday things! There are never enough hours in the day for me. A chat with a good friend always brings me back to a place of appreciation for all I have. I love animals of all kinds, and the relationship pets have with their families. Genuine laughter makes my day! My favorite pass-time is cooking (but not the cleaning up part), and I am passionate about real, healthy food. I believe people were created to be in relationship with each other. Too often we start to see those we love as work instead of joy, and I want people to see those they love in that light again! Every person is a miracle. Let’s start to focus on everything wonderful about each other and let the flaws fade into the background!
While I have enjoyed photography as a hobby since childhood, my real passion for it began after I had my first child. There were so many precious moments that I wanted properly documented – a fleeting grin, a chubby knee, even a pouting lip. However, I never found any commercial studio setting to be the right location for my family portraits. We would look stiff and uncomfortable. Probably rightly so, after hauling ourselves and our kids into a waiting room in this stressful attempt to appear “perfect”.
My portrait art is a result of a pleasant experience. All of my sessions are done with natural light and on-location in your home or an outdoor setting. My goal as a photographer is to capture true moments where you and your children are most comfortable, in a place with meaning to you. The more comfortable you are, the more likely it is that we will have fun and laugh together – letting the natural joy of your family shine through. This type of environment allows me to create treasured art pieces that your family can enjoy for generations to come. Ultimately, I want to provide you with a fun, easy-going photo session that allows your family to be themselves while I capture who you really are.
There will be a pre-session consultation to go over all of the details and so that you have a chance to advise me on your expectations, and I can walk you through every detail from what to wear, how to get the most out of your session, and what we can create together for you.
